Mahoning Valley Ballet Hosts Haunted Dance Studio

>> Sunday, October 27, 2013

Van Dyke & Company and the Mahoning Valley Ballet would like to thank those who attended their Haunted Dance Studio on Friday, October 25th, 2013.

Visitors were greeted by costumed characters and then ushered into a small dark room where they watched a custom video tale about the haunted tutu. Afterwards, Little Red Riding Hood introduced supporters to their mysterious guide, who led them through a labyrinth of scenes represented from tragic ballets including the The Red Shoes and Giselle. Visitors then had the option of traveling to the third floor of our studio to walk through the haunted maze complete with chilling characters, spooky sounds, doll parts, spiders and dead ends.  Appearances were made by the famous Elvis and Michael Jackson.  Mahoning Valley Ballet dancers also taught guests "Thriller" choreography which they performed with the Flashmob that took place at Punxsutawney's Halloween Fest in Barclay Square on Saturday, October 26th.

We hope visitors had a Spooktacular time and we appreciate their support of the arts in our community.  Also, a special thanks to our dancers and their families who volunteered their time and efforts to make our event a success.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the Mahoning Valley Ballet Company.
